Thermistor model naming rules
To know the naming rules for the thermistor model, first we need to know what is the thermistor?
Thermistors are a class of sensitive components. Typical characteristics of thermistors are temperature sensitive and exhibit different resistance values at different temperatures. The definition and characteristics of the thermistor, the nomenclature of the thermistor model, and the method for judging the thermistor are described in detail below.

What is a thermistor?
Thermistors are a class of sensitive components and are classified into a positive temperature coefficient thermistor (PTC) and a negative temperature coefficient thermistor (NTC) according to the temperature coefficient. Typical characteristics of thermistors are temperature sensitive and exhibit different resistance values at different temperatures. The positive temperature coefficient thermistor (PTC) has a higher resistance at higher temperatures. The negative temperature coefficient thermistor (NTC) has a lower resistance value at higher temperatures. They belong to the same semiconductor device.

Thermistor model naming rulesThe naming rules for thermistor models:
According to the standard SJ1152-82 "Methods for naming sensitive components", the product model of the sensitive resistor consists of the following four parts.
Part I: said primary (indicated by letters);
Part II: Category (indicated by letters);
Part III: Use or characteristics (indicated by letters or numbers);
Part IV: Serial number (indicated by numbers).
(1) The symbols and meanings of the main and category parts are shown in Table 1-5.
(2) When the use or characteristic part is represented by a number, it shall comply with the provisions of Table 1-6; When expressed in letters, it should meet the requirements of Table 1-7.
(3) The serial number is indicated by a number.

The main features of the thermistor are:
1) The sensitivity is high, and the temperature coefficient of resistance is 10 to 100 times larger than that of metal, and the temperature change of 10-6 ° C can be detected;
2) Wide operating temperature range, room temperature device is suitable for -55 ° C ~ 315 ° C. High temperature devices are suitable for temperatures above 315 ° C (currently up to 2000 ° C), and low temperature devices are suitable for -273 ° C to 55 ° C;
3) Small in size, capable of measuring the temperature of voids, cavities and blood vessels in the body that cannot be measured by other thermometers;
4) Easy to use, the resistance value can be arbitrarily selected between 0.1 and 100kΩ;
5) Easy to process into complex shapes and can be mass-produced;
6) Good stability and strong overload capability.
The judgment of the thermistor is good or bad:
Use the ohmmeter of the universal meter to measure the resistance value at normal temperature, then heat the thermistor with the air gun 100 degrees, and then measure the resistance value if it changes.

How to check the thermistor model
1. Use the letter 'M' to indicate the sensitive component.
2, the letter ‘Z’ indicates the positive temperature coefficient thermistor, or the letter 'F’ indicates the negative temperature coefficient thermistor
3, use or feature, using a single digit (0-9) to indicate '1' for general use;
‘2’ indicates the voltage regulation use (negative temperature coefficient thermistor);
'3' indicates microwave measurement use (negative temperature coefficient thermistor);
'4' indicates a parathermal type (negative temperature coefficient thermistor);
‘5’ indicates temperature measurement use;
‘6’ indicates temperature control use;
'7' indicates degaussing use (positive temperature coefficient thermistor);
'8' indicates a linear type (negative temperature coefficient thermistor);
‘9’ indicates a constant temperature type (positive temperature coefficient thermistor;
'0' indicates a special type (negative temperature coefficient thermistor).
