NTC Sensor Table
The ntc temperature sensor is usually composed of 2 or 3 metal oxides, mixed in fluid-like clay, and calcined in a high-temperature furnace to form dense sintered ceramics. Oxygen-linked metals tend to provide free electrons. Ceramics are generally excellent insulators. But only in theory, when the temperature is close to absolute zero, this is the case with thermistor type ceramics. However, when the temperature increases to a more common range, thermal excitation will eject more and more free electrons. As many electrons carry current through the ceramic, the effective resistance decreases. The resistance changes with temperature extremely sensitive. The typical change is a decrease of -7% to 3% per degree Celsius. At this time, any sensor suitable for use in a wide temperature range is the most sensitive.
The rated room temperature resistance depends on the resistivity, size and geometry of the basic material, and the contact area of the electrode. A thick and narrow thermistor has a relatively high resistance, while a thin and wide shape has a lower resistance. The actual size is also very flexible, they can be as small as .010 inches or very small diameters. There is almost no limit to the maximum size, but it is usually suitable for less than half an inch.
